A carefully crafted blend of year-old and 6-month-old barrels, this year’s release brings forth a stronger vanilla profile from the oak than years past. Big Guatemalan coffee passes on to big vanilla, which fades into melted bourbon-chocolate ice cream, which fades to a toasted graham cracker malt profile. Plenty of roast throughout levels out a sweet finish, which further levels out a body-warming heat without a boozy finish.
An homage to the classic dessert, Black Forest gateau, Alewerks Black Forest is an Imperial Chocolate Stout aged on both sweet and sour cherry puree then aged in bourbon barrels for 6 to 12 months.
Belgian dark strong ale joyfully brewed to celebrate the anniversary of Alewerks Brewing company. No two years at Alewerks are exactly the same and Jubilee embodies this evolution with each release being a numbered variation of a traditional recipe. Every Jubilee features bold Belgian flavors and notes of dark fruit and cocoa.
Predominant oak and vanilla notes blend well amongst rich milk chocolate aromatics. Rich flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramelized sugars and hints of bourbon coat the palate and are extremely smooth drinking.
Complex, yet smooth drinking experience and a textbook example that hoppy doesn’t mean bitter. Expect big hop character with citrus and hints of pine balanced by a strong malt presence and flavors of toffee and golden raisins.
